Just Say It vs Google Meet’s notes
Google Meet and Just Say It, side by side: what each makes, when it works, and what it costs — Google Meet’s facts from its own pages, read 2026-09-26.
The short answer
Choose Google Meet when your team meets in Google Workspace and you want each meeting’s notes written to a Google Doc and sent to the people invited. Choose Just Say It when the meeting itself should have a screen that builds as people talk, with the notes kept for the room.
Side by side
| Compared on | Google Meet | Just Say It |
|---|---|---|
| What it makes | Meeting notes in a Google Doc — a summary, decisions and next steps — and a “summary so far” for someone who joins late (help). | The screen everyone in the room sees, built as people talk: the point as a headline, figures as charts, faces, maps, lists and whole stages — and the notes. |
| When it works | During the meeting it takes the notes; the document arrives shortly after the meeting ends. | During the conversation, as each sentence is said. |
| What you give it | The Google Meet call, or an in-person meeting with a device nearby (help). | The conversation itself — people talking in the browser. Nothing to prepare or upload. |
| Meetings and rooms | Google Meet’s own meetings: 150 people on Business Standard, 500 on Business Plus (pricing). | Its own rooms in the browser, with camera, microphone and screen share: one guest on Free, six on Pro, thirty on Team. It does not join other meeting apps. |
| Notes | Quick notes and full notes, saved in the organizer’s Google Drive and shared as the organizer chooses. | Kept as the conversation goes, one page per topic, on the screen when anyone asks; every conversation kept as a replay, a deck and its notes. |
| Earlier meetings | Not described for the notes; they are documents in Google Drive. | Answers what was decided in earlier conversations — only ones the people in the room took part in. |
| Paid plans | Google Workspace Business Standard, the first plan with it: $14 a user a month with a yearly commitment, or $16.80 month to month; Business Plus $22 (pricing). | Pro $19 a month, or $15 billed yearly; Team $29 a month, or $25 billed yearly (pricing). |
| Free to start | A 14-day trial of Google Workspace; the notes need an eligible Workspace edition or one of Google’s AI plans (help). | Yes — 10 minutes with no account and no card, then 90 minutes a month with a free account (pricing). |
Where Google Meet is better
- It is part of Google Workspace — the notes land in Docs and Drive, beside the rest of your work.
- Notes in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.
- Notes of in-person meetings too, from a device on the table.
- Meetings of up to 150 people on Business Standard and 500 on Business Plus.
- The organizer chooses who receives the notes, and an administrator can require everyone’s consent first.
Where Just Say It is different
- Everyone in the meeting sees the conversation take shape on one screen — the point, the figures as charts, the faces, the maps — while people speak.
- The notes are kept for the room, one page per topic, and anyone can ask for them out loud.
- It runs in any current desktop browser, with nothing to install and no workspace to set up first.
Using both
Google Meet for the meetings your team holds in Workspace; Just Say It when a conversation needs a shared screen that keeps up with it.
Questions
- Is Just Say It an alternative to Google Meet’s notes?
- They do different jobs. Google Meet writes the notes of a Meet call into a Google Doc; Just Say It is its own room in the browser, where the screen everyone sees builds itself as people talk — and it keeps the notes too.
- Does Just Say It work inside Google Meet?
- Its own room is in the browser, with camera, microphone and screen share — and on a Pro or Team plan you can send its co-presenter into a Meet call, or invite it by its calendar address: it joins as a participant, shows the live slide as its camera, posts a notice in the chat, and leaves when the meeting ends.
- Which languages do they work in?
- Google Meet’s notes work in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, one language per meeting. Just Say It listens and answers in English today.
