Browser storage
Your browser’s own storage keeps three kinds of thing on your device. Preferences, never sent to us: the colour scheme (rapido.scheme), your language (rapido.lang), the microphone, speaker and camera you picked and the name you gave for a room (rapido.name, rapido.join.mic, rapido.join.camera), captions, the transcript, the enrichment and who-said-what switches (rapido.transcript, rapido.enrich, rapido.contributors), the people panel’s place and size and the side panels’ layout (rapido.people, rapido.layout), your camera background and the words over it (rapido.background, rapido.background.text), the meme switch and which memes you have seen (rapido.memes, rapido.memes.seen), the names of your vote (rapido.poll.names), the settings tab you were on, the rooms list open or closed, the spotlight and its corner, the motion and effects switches, the voice guide, the tips and the offers you have put away (rapido.voiceGuide, jsi.tips, jsi.memes.ask, jsi.backdropOffer), which rooms have shown you the recording notice (jsi.notice.room), a pin on a tile (jsi.pin), the landing page’s sound switch (jsi.sound) and a phone’s view. The working state of a tab, kept for as long as the tab is open: your seat in a room so a refresh returns you to it (jsi.room), the guest name you entered (jsi.guest), the language key or pilot key a link gave you (jsi.tl, rapido.key), a trial’s ticket (jsi.trial), the machine your meeting runs on (jsi.route), and why your last connection closed (jsi.lastClose) — these are sent to us when the tab connects, to put you back where you were and, for the close, as a code that says why a line was cut, and for nothing else. And the few below, which are sent to us for the reason each one says.
- jsi.try (session storage)
- Only if you arrived by a tip e-mail’s button: the feature it suggested and, until your ELAV8 account has been told the tip was opened, that e-mail’s one-time code — for as long as the tab is open, so it survives signing in. The code identifies that one e-mail’s tip, opens nothing, and is removed once it has been reported.
- jsi.via (session storage)
- Only if you arrived through a creator’s link: that creator’s code, for as long as the tab is open. It is sent with a trial or a sign-in so the creator who brought you is counted. It names the creator, never you, and it is not tied to your account or your recordings.
- jsi.guestNotes (session storage)
- Only if you joined a meeting as a guest and were offered its notes by e-mail: a signed ticket naming that meeting and your seat in it — never you — kept for as long as the tab is open. It is sent to us once, after you create an account or sign in in that tab, so the seat and the notes become your account’s; Not now removes it.
- jsi.src (session storage)
- One word for the kind of link this tab arrived by — an invitation, a room’s link, a calendar event, a shared or public meeting, one of our e-mails, or this site — for as long as the tab is open. It is sent with the tab’s first visit, a trial, a sign-in and a meeting so we can count which kinds of link bring people here. It is one word from a fixed list: it names no one, holds nothing about who sent the link, and is not tied to your account or your recordings.
- jsi.anon (local storage)
- A random identifier for this browser, made on your first visit while the site measures its own use, and replaced after 13 months. It is sent to us — and to no one else — with the pages you open and the controls you press (each by its fixed name, never by its words or anything you typed), so use can be counted. It names no one; when you sign in, it is linked to your account. It is never made, and nothing is sent, if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, if you turned the measuring off, or — in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — until you have allowed it.
- jsi.analytics.on (session storage)
- Whether the site is measuring its use at all, remembered for as long as the tab is open so it asks only once.
- jsi.analytics.region (session storage)
- Whether your region needs a choice before the browser measures (the EEA, the UK, Switzerland), as the server said it on this tab’s first page.
- jsi.consent (local storage)
- Your answer on the measuring card or switch — allow or no — and when you gave it, kept 13 months. A “no” is honoured at once and the identifier is removed.
- jsi.analytics (local storage)
- Set to “off” when you turned the measuring off in Settings or on Your Privacy Choices: nothing is stored and nothing is sent in this browser until you turn it on again.
What there is not
No third-party analytics, no advertising pixels, no social-network buttons that report your visit, no advertising cookies. The site’s pages make no third-party request from a page at all: the typeface is served from this site, and the site measures its own use itself. The product makes two, and only when they apply: the trial door loads the human check from our network provider (a script and a frame from the provider’s own address, which may set its cookie), and when you are signed in your account picture is fetched from where your identity provider keeps it or from a public avatar service, by a one-way code of your address — never your address itself. If that changes, this page changes first.
